My name is Dina Carpenito, and I’m the Founder and self-appointed Cookie Concierge behind Space Cadet Baking Company in San Francisco.
In 2021, I traded nearly two decades in construction accounting for full-time baking, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. What started as a creative pull quickly turned into a full-blown leap: recipe testing, business planning, and a fast education in social media marketing. It was chaotic, energizing, and the happiest I’d been in years.
Funny enough, I found cookie decorating the same way I found accounting: almost by accident. I experimented with it early on, never imagining it would become such a central part of the business. But as more and more clients asked for custom sugar cookies, I leaned in. With every order, I refined my style, sharpened my skills, and discovered just how much I love the challenge of turning ideas into edible art.
That spirit of constant improvement still drives everything I do. My clients’ needs are always at the center of the process, and I love helping them show off at their events with cookies that are as impressive as they are delicious.
I still can’t quite believe I get to make beautiful, delicious cookies for a living. To every past, present, and future client or collaborator: thank you for being part of the journey.
